The first way to obtain a beta code is very straightforward, as anyone who pre-orders any edition of the game will receive an early access beta code.

You must pre-order the game either before or during the beta, as those who do it once it's finished won't take advantage of this benefit and won't receive anything in exchange.

When Does the Modern Warfare 4 Beta Start?

The Modern Warfare 4 beta will run across two weekends, with the first one being exclusive to those with an early access code. Here are the dates so you don't miss out on anything:

  • Friday, August 21 to Tuesday, August 25

The first weekend will start as soon as the COD Next presentation is over, but we don't have a specific time at the moment. We expect the second weekend to start at around 9:00 AM PT (5:00 PM BST), as that is the franchise's usual update time.

Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled to come out on Friday, October 23 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam, Battle.net, and the Xbox Store.
