Invisible Woman or Susan Storm, is one of the most overpowered Strategists in Marvel Rivals. Boasting a plethora of abilities as a healer, Susan ensures the utmost support for her teammates while also having crowd-control abilities that can change the entire dynamic of the game.
If you’ve had the misfortune of having to face her as an enemy, you probably got frustrated with her invisibility abilities and healing powers. In this guide, we’ll show you how to counter her. Read on to learn more about how to counter Invisible Woman in Marvel Rivals.
Countering Invisible Woman
To take this character head-on, it’s vital to first understand how she operates.
The first advantage that Susan has compared to other strategists is her health pool, which is relatively higher than other healers on the roster. Being a mid-range character mainly, you’d regularly find her in the back lines, annoying her opponents whilst healing her teammates.
Her passive (Covert Advance) allows her to go invisible if she hasn’t engaged in an offense for 5.5 seconds. Additionally, she starts to regenerate her health in this state. Another major advantage the Invisible Woman has in an invisible state is her immunity to auto-target abilities, allowing her to avoid AoE attacks.
On the supportive side of things, apart from healing, Susan’s Guardian Shield allows her to form a protective barrier, which blocks incoming enemy attacks and heals nearby friendlies. It has a health bar of 300 and doesn’t go down until destroyed.
On the offensive side of things, her Psionic Vortex and Force Physics allow her to disrupt her enemies’ positioning, pushing or pulling them on the battleground. This creates enough gaps for her teammates to come up with their counter strategy and win the objectives.
To counter her effectively, heroes with abilities that can reveal her position, bypass or destroy her shields, and withstand or negate her crowd control are ideal.
How to Counter Invisible Woman
Countering the Invisible Woman or Susan Storm requires characters that can bypass her protective shields, reveal her positions, and possess crowd-control abilities. Below, we’ll take a look at some options.
1. Scarlet Witch (Duelist)
Being a mid-range character, Scarlet Witch gives a tough time to the Invisible Woman. Her primary offense, Chaos Control, projects a harmful beam to deal consistent damage to her enemies. This is particularly helpful for players to counter Susan’s invisibility and escape strategies.
Additionally, her skill set of lock-on attacks can fairly counter Invisible Woman’s invisibility. In cases where Susan tries to escape or where she’s about to rely on her stealth, players can use Dark Seal to stun the character. Due to these abilities, plus the offensive skillset tied to the character, the Scarlet Witch consistently pressurizes the Invisible Woman, forcing her to stay visible.
2. Cloak and Dagger (Strategists)
Cloak and Dagger are two different heroes who function as one. One of them is a support, while the other is an offensive. Despite not having a very large damage output, Cloak and Dagger behave as a great counter to Susan Storm.
Due to their lock-on beams, which are similar to Scarlet Witch, Cloak and Dagger can counter Susan’s orbs. Due to Darkforce Cloak, the character can deal consistent damage to their enemies over time. Additionally, players can also use Terror Cape. This ability blinds the enemy in a way, narrowing their field of view to make them semi-blind and vulnerable.
3. Groot (Vanguard)
Being a Vanguard fundamentally, Groot already has a health advantage over Susan, creating pressure for the latter from the start.
On the supportive side of things, Groot’s Thornlash and Ironwood walls serve as a potent counter to Susan’s Force Physics ability, disallowing her to capitalize on her crowd-control enemies. To counter her invisibility, Groot can use his Spore Bomb, which essentially reveals his enemies’ location, blocking their ability to capitalize on their stealth.
4. The Punisher (Duelist)
The Punisher is a dangerous duelist who capitalizes on his arsenal of weapons to deal significant damage to his enemies—Susan Storm in this case.
By utilizing his Culling Turret, players can easily disrupt Invisible Woman’s Guardian Shield, which has a health pool of 300. When up close and personal with the character, the Punisher can use his shotgun (Deliverance) to deal deadly damage to the Invisible Woman. In the long-range, he can utilize his Assault Rifle.
Through his Ultimate, the Final Judgment, The Punisher releases a highly effective firepower that can indirectly reveal Susan’s location by damaging her and forcing her to come out of invisibility.
5. Loki (Strategist)
Despite being a Strategist, Loki serves as a potent counter to the Invisible Woman. Firstly, he can create duplicates (Doppelgangers) of himself, confusing Susan and forcing her to reveal her position to deal damage. Additionally, he can also control his clones, further intensifying the situation for his enemies.
He can then follow up with his Backstab ability, which, as the name suggests, allows Loki to capitalize on his distraction to deal heavy damage to the Invisible Woman, effectively depleting her health.
