When I first heard that Winds and Waves was rumored to have 300 brand-new Pokemon, my jaw dropped. A part of me was excited, sure, but I was also panicked. I mean, we've seen this happen before. When studios prioritize volume over creating tight, deliberate designs, you don't get 300 stand-outs; you get 300 basic designs instead.
I never really cared about how big the Pokedex was. What mattered to me was how personable each Pokemon felt - each made with meticulous designs, with their own personalities and abilities. I think this can be done well if they planned to release 100 Pokemon, but 300? I am terrified that the developers will cut corners to accommodate the 300 they plan to release.

Besides that, the thought of finding all 300 Pokemon and adding them to my Pokedex already sounds exhausting. You're probably thinking I don't have to do that. But for me, that's an integral part of the game. Additionally, flooding the game with new Pokemon with possible new abilities will make it difficult for me to balance my team and create the best team synergy.
More isn't always better. Sometimes, more is just loud. Pokemon is an iconic franchise with memorable additions to the index. I hope it remains that way with Winds and Waves.
