The highly anticipated retro 2D side-scroller Terminator 2D: No Fate has been delayed. It will now aim to release on October 31, 2025.
It's not a big delay, as the original release date was September 5. The reason behind it, publisher Reef Entertainment explains, is because the physical copies have taken longer than expected to manufacture. This will give the developers at Bitmap Bureau extra time to add some final polish to the game.
For those craving physical media, Terminator 2D will have two unique versions: the Day One and Collector's Edition. The Day One edition comes with a slick collector's manual book, a reversible cover sleeve, a metal arcade token, and a cloth poster.
If you want to take it one step further, the Collector's edition has all of the Day One edition content, plus:
- Art book
- Flip book
- Steel book
- Metal paperweight
- Extra Terminator cloth poster
- Collector's tin

If you haven't heard about this game, in Terminator 2D: No Fate, you'll be able to play as Sarah Connor and Arnold Schwarzenegger's iconic T-800 during missions set in the present (technically past now).
To expand the incredible lore of Terminator and add an extra bit of spice to the gameplay, you'll also experience the Future Wars with exclusive missions playing as an adult version of John Connor in a dystopian future where machines have taken over the planet.
Iconic villains like the T-1000 will play a very interesting role as an ever-present villainous figure, perhaps similar to Mr. X in Resident Evil 2. Overall, it looks like a perfect homage to the franchise with a retro-inspired game that looks straight out of the 90s arcade scene.
As mentioned, Terminator 2D: No Fate will launch on October 31 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam).
