Halo Campaign Evolved, a remake of the title that started it all, was the biggest announcement that came out of the Halo Worlds 2025. Although many were expecting news on Halo 7, fans at least got something out of the last Halo Infinite competitive tournament.
However, it appears this is not the only campaign Halo Studios is cooking up in the oven. According to a post from the leaks_infinite account on X (formerly Twitter), campaign remakes for Halo 2 and 3 are also in the works.
There is no ETA on when these two other remakes will be announced, but we shouldn't hear about them until after the release of Campaign Evolved.
Just like CE, these two remakes will only include the campaign and will feature the sprint mechanic. It appears the studio is saving all its multiplayer efforts for the next main Halo project, which is confirmed to be in development using Unreal Engine 5.
The addition of the sprint mechanic to the remake of the first game was controversial, with some considering it an addition that ruins the original feel and others looking at it in a more positive way.
We can also expect the Halo 2 and 3 remakes to come out on PlayStation, as this new wave is meant to give users who never had an Xbox or the chance to play the original titles an introduction to this mythical franchise.
For those who haven't had a chance to see it, here is the trailer for the upcoming remake:
Halo Campaign Evolved is scheduled to release in 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
