The marketing blitz for GTA 6 has just kicked off, giving us plenty of new information from the Netflix showcase. Additional details came from follow-up impressions by outlets invited to Rockstar HQ in Scotland to play a three-hour demo of the game and interview the developers in the process.
Naturally, the question of “How long is GTA 6?” was top of mind. Surprisingly, Rockstar actually answered.
How Long to Beat GTA 6?
Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson answered a ton of questions about GTA 6, including a breakdown of the new Wanted system and, of course, how long it will take a regular player to beat Grand Theft Auto 6. His answer: around 80 hours.
That estimate was based on a typical playthrough in which Rob completed the full main campaign alongside a few side objectives. This means that if you’re looking to 100% the game, it’ll likely take you 100+ hours to do so.
Now, this could very well be "dev talk." Developers often quote a number higher than average when discussing game lengths during pre-release press cycles. However, given what we've seen of the side activities players can engage with, Rob might even be underselling how long it will take players to finish everything on offer.
It won’t be long before players can finally get their hands on Grand Theft Auto 6. The game is set to release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19. No official information regarding PC or Nintendo Switch 2 versions has been shared yet.
