It finally happened, more Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks have hit social media. They’re rather big this time, as it’s footage from what looks to be a properly polished version of the game, rather than work-in-progress gameplay.
The first clip showcases male protagonist Jason Duval balling out, as he picks up a basketball and shoots some hoops. A few tidbits of information we can get from the clip include the fact that you get some sort of Focus bonus for scoring; what that entails and whether it’s a permanent buff or a momentary one remains to be seen.
If you want to check the clip, it’s all over social media. From the UI, the small quirks like the basketball ever so slightly clipping through Jason’s clothes, or how the animations look while it’s bouncing near a body of water close by, this looks like the real deal, and although it isn’t a major leak, it is by all intents and purposes our first look at proper GTA 6 gameplay beyond official trailers.
Take-Two has been issuing DMCA takedowns, giving validity to the fact this particular leak is absolutely real gameplay footage.
A second clip is also making the rounds, but this one’s much less convincing. It’s a compilation of different gameplay clips, but they lack a UI and have a quintessential AI look and feel to them. The big giveaway is a section involving a monster truck that gets completely covered in a sequence that’ll make you think you’re watching a Sora-generated video.
It looks like the leaks are coming from a 2023 build. It’s likely the game changed quite significantly since then. Also, expect considerably more leaks as, allegedly, the person who has access to the leaked content will continue to do so until Rockstar apologizes to consumers.
If you don’t want to spoil the fun for yourself, Grand Theft Auto 6 will get its official gameplay reveal via Netflix this upcoming August 27.
