  • Quick Answer: GameStop reportedly leaked that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake pre-orders, featuring an exclusive bonus, will launch on August 4, 2026.

After much speculation, Nintendo confirmed that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake was in the works during June's Nintendo Direct.

Rumors of the remake's development first started circulating in March, and it didn't take long for Nintendo to confirm its existence. But despite revealing the first trailer, Nintendo didn't give an exact release date for the game. The trailer only stated it would come in 2026.

However, GameStop may have just revealed when pre-orders go live, and if it's true, then it's sooner than we think.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Pre-Orders Leaked?

A Turkish X account may have just revealed when the Ocarina of Time pre-orders start. The user checked the Google cache listing on GameStop, which claims pre-orders for the game will begin on August 4. The listing also claims that pre-ordering the game will come with a bonus.

Their post reads, "In GameStop's cache, the date August 4, 2026 appears, along with a PRE-ORDER BONUS. If it hasn't been corrected, you can see it with your own eyes using the same search! We're dying of excitement."

On Reddit, a user on the r/legendofzelda subreddit also claimed that GameStop may have accidentally published the information on the website. Not long after, people started pointing out the supposed leak, and GameStop quickly erased all mentions of August 4 from their website.

Although it doesn't state what the release date is actually for, pre-orders make the most sense. The screenshot shows that the person specifically searched for pre-orders, and the preview of GameStop's article mentions a "pre-order bonus."

Additionally, if it was the release date of the game itself, that would mean it's only three weeks away. This doesn't leave players with a lot of time to pre-order it, especially when they aren't even available yet.

But, of course, none of this is confirmed. So take it with a pinch of salt for the time being.
