- Quick Answer: This features piece ranks eight highly anticipated upcoming games coming to the Nintendo Switch family, including Splatoon Raiders and Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave.
The line-up of games hitting the Nintendo Switch this year (and early 2027) is stacked.
Plenty of titles are coming to both Nintendo Switch systems. We saw some of them featured during the June Nintendo Direct, while other games were confirmed in other game showcases. Although dozens of games will hit the platform in the coming months, there are some I'm more excited for than others.
Here are eight games I can't wait to play on my Switch.
Splatoon Raiders (July 23, 2026)
Initially, I wasn't too interested in Splatoon Raiders. It just didn't feel like my kind of game. But when I watched the Splatoon Raiders Direct, my interest was piqued. It looks like a game that you can play for hours and not get bored.

In Splatoon Raiders, you (the Mechanic) venture out with the Deep Cut Trio to Spirahlite Island for some treasure hunting. However, things don't go according to plan, and your ship ends up destroyed in a storm. Now, on top of treasure hunting, you need to build your base and try not to get attacked by Salmonids.
Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave (September 17, 2026)
I've been a massive fan of Fire Emblem for a while now. The game that got me hooked was Fire Emblem Fates and its unique Conquest and Birthright routes. So it's no surprise I'm extremely excited for when Fortune's Weave comes out.

Fortune's Weave will take place in Dagsion, the capital city of the Dagdan Empire, during the Heroic Games. Among the contestants are four heroes whose fates are tied to the world. You can pick between these four characters and follow their stories. I'm a big fan of games where your choice dictates your fate, so I'm excited to see how this one goes.
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort (October 22, 2026)
As a 2000s kid, Wii Sports was one of my favorite things to do at home. It was my workout (is what I say so I don't feel guilty playing all day). I was also fond of Wii Sports Resort, which was basically Wii Sports with more activities set in Wuhu Island.

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort feels like a modern take on Wii Sports Resort. We'll be returning to Wuhu Island and playing classics like bowling and boxing. However, what I'm most curious about is thumb wrestling. It sounds lackluster, but since I'm competitive, I can feel this competition could get heated.
Final Fantasy Resonance (October 22, 2026)
Final Fantasy Resonance is a unique adaptation of the mobile game Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. I briefly played the mobile game - yes, I was there for the Ariana Grande collaboration - but I ultimately stopped. I enjoyed it, but it was hard to keep up with the grind.

So when I heard Resonance would be set in the same world as Brave Exvius, I was rightfully excited. I'm excited to see how different it would be, since it will no longer be a gacha and will feature turn-based combat instead. Exvius always drew mixed responses, but I have high hopes for Resonance.
Hello Kitty Party Land (October 29, 2026)
Now, listen. This might seem like a random addition to the list. But I grew up as a huge Sanrio fan - my mother was fond of Little Twin Stars, and I've always loved Kuromi. So a title meshing co-op party games with Hello Kitty is like heaven for a girl like me.

Up to four players can come together to play over 45 mini-games and board games. You'll be able to customize your own avatars and meet over 145 Sanrio characters. It's a fun, casual game that looks like it will be perfect for a chill night with friends.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake (2026)
Ocarina of Time is arguably the most iconic game of all time, especially among the Zelda titles. I played the game when I got the Nintendo 3DS and was obsessed. So when the Ocarina of Time remake was confirmed, I was ecstatic.

When Nintendo announced the remake during the June Nintendo Direct, it showed new and improved 3D animations of Link. It also introduced the land of Hyrule and hinted at Link being an outcast since he doesn't have a guardian fairy. It seems to be true to the OG story with new and improved graphics. I'm excited to see what's new (and what stays the same) once the game drops.
Professor Layton and the New World of Steam (2026)
I'm a massive fan of mystery and puzzles - and that's exactly why I'm excited for Professor Layton and the New World of Steam. This game will be set a year after the events of Professor Layton and the Unwound Future, but I don't think playing the past games is necessary (which is great, because I didn't play the last game).

This title is set in the fictional American town of Steam Bison. It's famed for its rapid development powered by revolutionary steam technology. A mysterious incident has lured Layton and Luke into their latest adventure.
Danganronpa 2x2 (Early 2027)
Out of all the Danganronpa games, my personal favorite is Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. So when Spike Chunsoft announced that a new version of the game would be coming out, I was hyped. Sadly, the game was pushed from 2026 to early 2027, so we'll have to wait a little more for it.

While the original title's content will be part of the game, it will also include Slayhem Mode. It will also feature a completely different storyline, with alternate victims, culprits, and tricks. The fact that it's basically a whole new story is wild. Who will be killed? Who will be found guilty? The suspense is killing me.
