  • Quick Answer: A leaked Epic Games Store listing indicates Final Fantasy VII Revelation may have a Story Expansion Pass and additional DLC content.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation could have an incredible amount of DLC, according to an Epic Games Store listing that got picked up by tracking websites.

The listing, first tracked by EpicDB, a third-party database for all things EGS, lists your usual assortment of Premium editions for a game, but more importantly, it also features a Story Expansion Pass and 9 separate pieces of DLC.

Now, before you lift your materia-infused pitchfork: do note none of this has been confirmed by Square Enix, and second, these pieces of DLC could amount to things like costumes, which we now know will have a direct impact on gameplay, with a class-like system called FITS being a part of the game.

What piques my interest is the Story Expansion Pass.

What Could The FFVII Revelation Story DLC Be?

One thing that Square Enix wants to do with the FFVII Remake project is tie all the story of Final Fantasy VII into a cohesive trilogy of games. The game’s lore and character fates are spread out across all sorts of media, including spin-off games, books, films, and more.

Back in 2023, Tetsuya Nomura stated that the entire Remake project would tie into Advent Children. The how is still a mystery, but Zack Fair having a more prominent role in the trilogy than in the original could pave the way for it.

If the idea of the trilogy is to lead all the way up until the events of Advent Children, I doubt they decide to save that for DLC. It would be anticlimactic and almost insulting to fans. So what’s left to explore?

We could have several wild guesses — what if the story DLC takes us into the distant future with Red XIII and the aftermath of the battle against Sephiroth? An almost bittersweet epilogue to wrap things up sounds nice.

Maybe a few of the spin-offs like Dirge of Cerberus weren’t crammed into the base game. It would make sense to give characters like Vincent more extra gametime, considering their fan-favorites, and Yuffie, who was absent from FFVII Remake, got her own DLC before Rebirth.

Whatever the case may be, one thing’s for sure: Final Fantasy VII Revelation is coming early in 2027 to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
