- Quick Answer: Check out all major reveals from the official Final Fantasy VII Revelation trailer, including its Spring 2027 release date and gameplay features.
Okay, Final Fantasy fans, that was a lot to process. Tifa being in Street Fighter 6 already felt like a fever dream, and then came the big, erm, revelation: Final Fantasy VII Revelation was properly unveiled, and it's coming on all modern platforms, including PC and Nintendo Switch 2, this upcoming Spring 2027.

It's been a long time coming. 11 years since the remake project was properly confirmed, and even more if you, like me, were catfished by the PlayStation 3 tech demo. In any case, seeing what Square Enix has in store for the epic finale sent shivers down my spine.
I'll be breaking down a ton of what was revealed in further articles, but for now, let's keep to straight facts in case you missed it. Let's start with the main trailer showcased.
Revelation is taking the open-world setting of Rebirth and cranking it up to 11, because we'll be able to take the Highwind for a stroll across the world and Fortnite drop out of it in virtually any region we want. Of course, Wutai was a major standout. Unlike the original game, where it was an entirely optional area, the Remake project has set the region to become a massive part of its finale.
Of course, the chaos that the Meteor Sephiroth has summoned has awakened the Weapons, larger-than-life behemoths set to defend Gaia from any threat, not caring who steps in their way.
A second gameplay trailer narrated by Matt Mercer, voice of Vincent Valentine, broke down a bit more of the gameplay that awaits players.
The big standout was finally seeing Vincent and Cid in action. Vincent's big gimmick is his transformation, which turns him into a beastly force of destruction. Cid, on the other hand, looks to be a very agile fighter that will fill the role of a healer/damage-dealing hybrid, for reasons I won't spoil.
Unlike previous games, outfits will play a role in your character stats with a new system called FITS. Think of this as a Class system. From the ones we could see in the trailer, Tifa's was definitely a standout with a very gorgeous garment that accentuates her combat style.

Finally, to reiterate, Final Fantasy VII Revelation is coming out on PC, Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2 with a simultaneous worldwide release this upcoming Spring.
