Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves has officially arrived on Nintendo Switch 2, and if you’re looking for a top-tier fighting game to dive into, this is easily the one you should be picking up on Nintendo's hybrid handheld.
SNK’s flagship fighter is a title I’ve thoroughly enjoyed since it launched back in June 2025, with the developers consistently deploying updates to keep the meta fresh. This new Switch 2 edition is far more than a standard port, as it launches alongside fresh DLC featuring Tokyo Revengers icons Mikey and Draken.
Mikey and Draken enter the ring as two distinct combatants with drastically different playstyles. Mikey relies heavily on fast combo strings—even borrowing some of Rugal’s flair for flashy move extensions—while Draken fits the heavy-hitter archetype, leveraging chargeable moves for massive combo conversions despite lacking feints.
This version of City of the Wolves supports handheld, docked, and tabletop play. You can even use a single Joy-Con if you want to flex on your friends with the smallest controller setup on the market.
Crucially, the Switch 2 version ships with rollback netcode and cross-play support, ensuring robust online matchmaking across platforms. A free downloadable demo is also live, giving players a hands-on taste of the game's arcade mode and core mechanics.
Switch 2 players can pick up the Standard Edition for $20. Alternatively, if you want complete access to all DLC—including three seasons' worth of guest fighters like Street Fighter’s Chun-Li and Ken, Nightmare Geese, Tokyo Revengers’ Mikey and Draken, and Tekken 8’s Reina (arriving this December)—you can jump on the Starter Edition for $19.99.
