Stating the cat's out of the bag when it comes to the Elder Scrolls IV remake is an understatement. Even the Xbox Support X (formerly Twitter) account is spoiling the game's "shadow drop" this upcoming April 21.
What was supposed to be a massive shadow drop similar to Tango Gameworks' Hi-Fi Rush has now turned into a sort of joke. Rumors pointed out that the project was being worked on in secret. The surprise was spoiled earlier this month when an insider revealed the game was going to be shadow-dropped on April 21.
Days after that initial leak, a whole slew of Oblivion Remastered images hit the internet, making it all but confirmed that the game is set to come out in a few days. If you need more confirmation, look no further than the Xbox Support account blatantly stating it.
A Twitter user by the name Raven shared screenshots of a conversation they had with an Xbox Support agent. Initially, Raven was asking if the upcoming (still unannounced) Elder Scrolls IV remake would be available to play via cloud gaming. The response, which was allegedly made by a real agent and not an AI-generated one by a bot, states that yes, the game will most likely be available to play via cloud services when it launches on April 21.
It could be a case of the AI bot just regurgitating information seen online. Doesn't make Microsoft look any better, but the alternative being a real-life employee just accidentally sharing that information is likely worse.
I've reached out to the Xbox Support account. To nobody's surprise, I wasn't able to get a confirmation about whether the statement was true or just an unfortunate coincidence.
In any case, expect the Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered edition to sneakily join Game Pass this upcoming April 21. Don't forget to act surprised. It'll be competing against other high-profile RPGs coming to the service day one like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
