Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has been announced for the Switch and Switch 2 during the most recent Nintendo Direct. As part of the Partner Showcase, it made sense to see the latest DBZ fighter hit Nintendo’s new console. What’s really shocking about this release is that the game is coming to the original Switch as well.

The Nintendo Direct confirmed that Switch and Switch 2 users will be able to get this game on November 14, 2025. Pre-orders begin later today, so fans who have been waiting for this game on a Nintendo system can finally try it out this year. We’re more curious about how the fighter will run on the original Switch, which should be fun to witness.

Nintendo’s Switch has been a solid home for these anime games, so seeing Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero announced for these consoles isn’t completely shocking. They were already on PS4 and Xbox One, so porting them to Switch 2 isn’t a huge surprise. It’s just shocking to see this on the original Switch, and we want to know if it will perform well there.

Sparking Zero has 180-plus characters from the original Dragon Ball up to the latest Dragon Ball Super series. As the proper follow-up to Bandai Namco’s Budokai Tenkaichi games, this has been a dream game for many. More characters are set to be added, as the Daima cast has been announced as DLC.

Pick up Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero when it hits Switch and Switch 2 on November 14, 2025.
