The Active Duty map pool is something CS2 players must be aware of, especially if they plan to rank up the ladder in the current season.
Premier mode is the game's ranked mode and offers players the possibility to square off against users with the same skill level in a competitive setting. However, the maps where these matches take place are limited.
With 2026 underway and Season 4 of Premier now live, the Active Duty map pool has received a minor change, with a map that was recently removed now back in rotation after getting some fixes.
What is the Active Duty map pool?
Premier matches in CS2 feature the competitive settings and are played on the maps available in the current Active Duty map pool. This is a limited list of maps defined by the developers, similar to what happens in other games like Valorant.

The map rotation changes whenever a new season comes into effect, meaning the list won't always remain the same. However, the number of maps is set, so whenever a new map gets added, another one gets removed to make space.
Current Active Duty map pool
These are the maps available in the current rotation of the Active Duty map pool for CS2's Premier mode:
- Ancient
- Dust II
- Inferno
- Mirage
- Nuke
- Overpass
- Train
The latest change arrived at the start of Season 4, with Train removed and Anubis added back. The former map was available in Season 2, but it was removed at the start of Season 3. Now that the map is back, Valve has fixed a few errors and also adjusted the radar minimap to account for the changes.
As you can see, only seven maps are available in the pool. Keep in mind that only bomb maps can be added to the pool, since that is the game mode used for competitive settings.
We will update this list whenever Valve announces a change to the pool to reflect the current rotation.
