Destiny 2 holds numerous events throughout each year, but some fans might be wondering if we'll see a return for Crimson Days in 2022. The event was one of the very first seasonal events added in Destiny 1 way back in 2016 and became a bit of a fan-favourite. With this in mind, here's everything we know so far about a possible return for Crimson Days in Destiny 2.

What Is Crimson Days & Crimson Doubles?
For those who don't remember, Crimson Days was a limited-time event that would run in February around Valentine's Day. Like many Destiny events, Guardians were treated to a makeover of the tower, which was adorned with various red heart-shaped decorations and banners (seen below). The key element, however, was the addition of a new mode in the Crucible playlist called Crimson Doubles, a spin on the traditional Elimination mode.
Instead, guardians were required to create a 2 person fireteam (there is no matchmaking). When your teammate died, your guardian would become “enraged” with a 'Broken Heart' buff. This gave the surviving guardian max ratings for Armor, Agility, Recovery, and Weapon Handling speed until you die, or revive your partner.
Will Crimson Days return to Destiny 2 in February 2022?
At the time of writing it seems very unlikely that we'll see a return for Bungie's Crimson Days event. The limited-time event didn't return in 2021 with Bungie announcing the Crimson Days event had been discontinued.
Writing on the Destiny 2 blog in late January, Senior Community Manager dmg04 told fans:
It's always possible that Bungie could remove Crimson Doubles from the Destiny Content Vault and add it back into the game's existing crucible playlist. However, we doubt we'll find out until much closer to Valentine's Day.
