It has been six years since the release of Remedy Entertainment’s award-winning supernatural action game, Control. Surprisingly, a new update has just arrived for its PC community, restoring the lost PlayStation 4-exclusive mission and unlocking a set of suits for Jesse that were previously exclusive to PlayStation 4 pre-orders.

The March 2025 Update (1.30) is now live, available exclusively for PC players on Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG. The update will arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox One at a later date.

This update reintroduces the lost Hideo Kojima mission, which was originally only available in the PlayStation 4 version. Kojima makes a brief cameo as Dr. Yoshimi Tokui, a scientist working in the Federal Bureau of Control. His mission takes players through a Guided Imagery Experience, featuring a voiceover by Kojima himself as Dr. Tokui. Players who want to access the mission can do so by picking up Dr. Tokui’s tapes from the Extrasensory Lab.

PC players who own the Ultimate Edition will also gain access to Jesse Faden’s three additional suits that were once PlayStation 4 pre-order exclusives: the Astral Dive Suit, Tactical Response Gear, and Urban Response Gear. These outfits are now available to unlock immediately and can be acquired at the control point in the Central Executive Sector Area.

Additionally, Control Ultimate Edition receives a significant graphical upgrade to maximize the potential of modern hardware. The 1.30 update introduces Ultra Ray Tracing and HDR support, along with various new graphical options, including ultrawide support for 48:9 monitors, DLSS and DLAA support, FOV scaling, and more. Players can check the full patch notes on Control’s official blog.

Remedy Entertainment continues to show strong support for its beloved IPs, especially after breaking even on Alan Wake 2 following its major success. The studio is now focused on its next wave of projects, including the Max Payne remake, Control 2, and the multiplayer first-person shooter FBC: Firebreak.
