Capcom is finally cracking down on the rampant cheating in Monster Hunter Wilds. With the launch of Title Update 1 tomorrow, the company will begin suspending players and revoking rewards for those exploiting the game’s systems, using third-party tools, or violating the End User License Agreement (EULA).

Capcom is also penalizing players who unknowingly benefit from these exploits. According to the announcement: “Even if you yourself did not commit prohibited actions, if a party member in multiplayer committed prohibited actions, the completion time of all party members will be deemed invalid. Thus, their times will be erased, and their rights to claim rewards will be revoked.”

This means that repeatedly playing with a cheater could result in suspension. And if a player is mistakenly flagged as an exploiter, Capcom has made it clear that no compensation will be provided for lost rewards.

The company urges players to be cautious when teaming up with others and to avoid playing with those engaging in prohibited activities. With the game now a month old, veteran players can easily recognize cheaters—especially those benefiting from inflated quest rewards or exaggerated item drops, such as Jewel farming cheats.

New players, however, may unknowingly fall into this trap, putting their accounts at risk of being flagged. To prevent this, Capcom encourages all hunters to report suspicious activity when spotted.

This crackdown aims to prevent players from unfairly climbing the leaderboards ahead of Title Update 1’s Arena Quests, a mode where rankings are based on hunt completion times. Any player caught cheating in Arena Quests will have their results marked as invalid and removed from the leaderboards.

Title Update 1 arrives tomorrow, April 4, and is free for all Monster Hunter Wilds players. The update introduces Mizutsune, a returning fan-favorite monster, along with a High-Rank version of Zoh Shia, the game’s Low-Rank final boss. Additionally, a new social hub, the “Grand Hub,” will provide a dedicated space for hunters to gather, interact, and prepare for their next hunts.
