This is due to the core mechanic of Pokopia. Unlike past Pokemon games, where you can come across the same Pokemon type countless times, only one of each Pokemon appears in Pokopia. Therefore, a Shiny can't appear.

The chances of Shiny Pokemon also appear low due to this mechanic. However, it's not totally impossible. The game is expected to be updated frequently, so we can't totally rule it out. If they do get added, it will likely be for events and won't be random encounters.

Thankfully, just because there aren't any Shiny Pokemon doesn't mean there aren't any unique types in Pokopia, either.

Are There Any Rare or Unique Pokemon in Pokopia?

One of the standout creatures in Pokemon Pokopia is Peakychu, a Pikachu whose physical appearance has changed after it sacrificed all its electricity to help sick Pokemon, causing it to lose its ability to generate electricity.

There is also Mosslax, a mossy Snorlax that fell asleep to fight off a bad mood after losing a fight. It became mossy because it slept so long that dirt started piling around it. Mosslax has been asleep for so long that it has forgotten the Pokemon it lost to.

Another unique one is Smerguru, a Smeargle that secretes multicolored bodily fluids from the tip of its tail, which it uses to paint.
