  • Quick Answer: The Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscriptions will get a price reduction, and new Call of Duty games won't be a day-one release.

Just a few days ago, news of a memo from Xbox's new CEO, Asha Sharma, asking for solutions to reduce the Xbox Game Pass price was circulating on social media. Now, the reduction has arrived, but it comes at a cost.

Xbox has announced that both the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscriptions will receive a price reduction. Ultimate will go from $29.99 to $22.99, while PC will drop from $16.49 to $13.99. Prices will vary per region, so we recommend keeping an eye on your Xbox store to see how much the changes will be.

As a result, new Call of Duty games will no longer be a day-one addition to the subscription. This means that players who want to enjoy Infinity Ward's next title (allegedly Modern Warfare 4) at launch will have to purchase it separately.

However, Xbox confirmed that the new games will be added to the subscription in the following Holiday season after their release, meaning roughly one year later. Existing games in the service will remain untouched, meaning you won't lose access to Black Ops 7.

The announcement doesn't mention anything about past games that have not been added, leading us to believe that this will get progressively included in the service.

Just last week, Call of Duty: Vanguard was added to the Xbox PC app, leading users to believe that the game would soon be added to Game Pass. The most recent game that made its way to the service is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019), which arrived on April 17.

In the meantime, Black Ops 7 is soon getting a brand-new Zombies map titled Totenreich with the Season 3 Reloaded update.
