Another month, another conversation about any semblance of FromSoftware and Sony finally making that damn Bloodborne Remastered. With its 10th anniversary coming up on March 26, should we be expecting anything?
Of course, the answer is no. But let’s put on our clown makeup and copium for the time being and maybe—just maybe—hope that something Bloodborne-related happens in the coming weeks. What could it be?
A Bloodborne Remaster?
Highly unlikely. Sony and FromSoftware would need to market the game weeks in advance to make this a profitable remaster. It’s one of the most sought-after remasters of a PlayStation exclusive, after all. Players are desperate for a 60fps version so they can traverse the streets of Yharnam in a whole new light.
Shadow-dropping a Bloodborne remaster would be a dumb move for Sony, as it’s guaranteed success for the company. Everyone knows this remaster is as elusive and coveted as Hollow Knight: Silksong—both games with no signs of actually returning.
A Bloodborne Netflix Show?
That would definitely be a good idea and something within Sony and FromSoftware’s realm of possibilities, especially considering recent news that George R.R. Martin is interested in an Elden Ring movie. Maybe we could see Bloodborne adapted into a different form of media in the future. Here’s hoping it ends up as a Netflix show like Devil May Cry or Castlevania.
A Bloodborne Comic?
If you’ve been following the franchise for a while, you might’ve seen panels from various graphic novels and comics floating around the internet. Sure, they weren’t as intricate as the video game, but they provided that ‘extended universe’ lore fans craved—especially considering the series has been on hiatus for 10 years with no updates or improvements.
A Bloodborne…Social Media Post?
If we throw away all this copium and hopium, the most likely outcome is nothing. Just a Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), or Instagram post from FromSoftware and Sony celebrating Bloodborne’s 10th anniversary. And then? Nothing else. Everyone moves on with their day, while the Bloodborne subreddit implodes yet again (don’t worry, it happens every year).
To be honest, we shouldn’t get our hopes up for anything on March 26. But come on, Sony—if you remastered Days Gone, a game that didn’t really need it, what’s stopping you from achieving greatness?
We just need a Bloodborne remaster. Please.
