Retro gaming fans won't be getting the Analogue 3D just yet.
The team behind the revamped Nintendo 64 console has confirmed that shipping is now scheduled for July 2025.
The system, which was first planned for 2024, was delayed to early 2025, and now it's been pushed back once more. Although no specific reason was shared, Analogue assured customers that they're working to deliver the best product possible and that all pre-orders are still valid.
The Analogue 3D was introduced as a fresh way to play Nintendo 64 classics with some modern upgrades. Unlike traditional emulation, FPGA technology ensures 100% compatibility with N64 cartridges from any region. Players can now insert their original game cartridges and enjoy them as they were meant to be played but with 4K support and updated connectivity features.
The price is set at $249.99, and it will come in black and white versions. To go with it, 8BitDo is launching a 64-style Bluetooth controller, available separately for $39.99. The console quickly sold out of pre-orders when it went live in October 2024, and since then, customers have been eagerly awaiting updates.
If you've already pre-ordered, Analogue confirmed that you don't need to do anything. Your order will stay valid until the console ships. Customers will also receive an email a week before shipping to confirm their address details.
However, for those who prefer not to wait, the company is still offering full refunds on all pre-orders. Some fans are frustrated by the delay, especially since Analogue hasn't shown any real-time footage of the system yet.
The company has promised full compatibility with the entire N64 library. Still, many are curious to see how well the console handles classic games, especially those that pushed the original hardware to its limits.
As of now, those excited to relive Nintendo 64 classics in 4K will have to hold off until the Analogue 3D launches in July 2025.
