The Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension DLC went live on December 10, 2025, and with its release came not only additional story content to unravel, a Hyper Space Lumiose to explore, and new Pokemon to catch, but also new exciting Mega Evolutions for us to enjoy and add to our team of winners!
In total, 19 new Mega Evolutions were exclusively introduced in the Mega Dimension DLC, and they are not short of awesome. We will be looking at them all, and we are hoping that your favorite got its own.
What are the New Mega Evolutions in the Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension DLC?
While some Mega Evolutions in this list have already been revealed in official teasers and trailers, like Mega Zeraora and the adorable Mega Raichus, the rest haven't seen the official spotlight for the public eye yet.
With that said, if you haven't played the Mega Dimension DLC yet and are planning to, a spoiler alert is in effect. But if you're like us and can't wait to see how Game Freak and Nintendo will take these Pokemon to the next level, then keep reading!
Mega Raichu X & Y (Electric)
Mega Raichu X is a voltic Attack specialist, while Mega Raichu Y is a shocking Special Attack master!

Mega Chimecho (Psychic - Steel)
The addition of steel-typing perfectly suits this adorable house ornament. Also, bet you didn't notice that its metallic outline resembles its baby evolution. Chingling, huh?

Mega Zeraora (Electric)
The black and yellow design is awesome, but players seem to all agree that it stole its look from Luxray. Now you can't unsee it, too.

Mega Garchomp Z (Dragon)
With the removal of its Ground Typing, Ice-types don't deal as much damage as before, and this design is more intimidating than its original Mega Form.

Mega Glimmora (Rock - Poison)
This Paldean curiosity has always been "meh," so when we found out the Paldea Champion Geeta considers this Pokemon as its ace, we can't help but ask "Really?".

Mega Tatsugiri (Dragon - Water)
You know what's better than a sushi-based Pokemon? 3 sushi-based Pokemon all served on a single plate! Kidding aside, the dynamic, attacking pose and vibrant color of its design are definitely welcome!

Mega Staraptor (Fighting - Flying)
Now this is Mega Evolution design perfection, and anyone who disagrees can just go take a Brave Bird from this brute! Oh, and Close Combat from this Staravia is STAB now.

Mega Magearna (Steel - Fairy)
Gearing up takes on a whole new meaning in Magearna's awesome Mega Evolution form. Between its color, floating gears, and aggressive facial expression, Magearna looks so battle-ready now!

Mega Golurk (Ground - Ghost)
Just when you thought Golurk couldn't look more epic, Mega Golurk takes it an ancient step further. Now it looks like a vessel of mystical destruction waiting to be released!

Mega Meowstic (Psychic)
If it was difficult for you to choose between Male Meowstic and Female Meowstic's design, its Mega Evolution just said, "Why not both?" It looks really good with the duality design, and Marvel's Malekith wants it to look back.

Mega Golisopod (Bug - Steel)
Another Pokemon whose base design was already terrifying, but Pokemon just had to take it a step further and give us this metallic bug monstrosity. And a Golisopod without the Emergency Exit ability? Now that's scary!

Mega Scovillain (Grass - Fire)
This Mega Evolution form didn't really deviate from its original design, aside from the additional teeth, facial spikes, and black coloring. If not for the design, you can love it for its unique typing.

Mega Absol Z (Dark - Ghost)
Here's another peak Mega Evolution design. You know what an edgelord like Absol needs? More edge! And this dark angel design is basically Sephiroth if he were a Pokemon.

Mega Crabominable (Fighting - Ice)
If Crabominable is a gentle-looking giant set of frozen limbs, this is it on steroids and in angry mode. It now stands in its two ice-covered limbs and has ice spikes in its knuckles.

Mega Heatran (Fire - Steel)
We'll be honest, this selection was really random and a molten lava of a curveball. But seeing its melting lava-and-steel body with its gaping mouth made all the confusion worth it.

Mega Lucario Z (Fighting - Steel)
This isn't much of a surprise, as this was announced just a few days before the actual release of the DLC, but you gotta admit, a more chill and Special Attacking counterpart to Mega Lucario's original form is majestic.

Mega Darkrai (Dark)
Darkrai has long been speculated to be part of the DLC because of Ansha's clothing set, but did we expect a Mega form? No, Sir. Design-wise, it looks weird, but maybe that's the point.

Mega Baxcalibur (Dragon - Ice)
Besides the bigger sword, which now looks like it's impaled to Baxcalibur's body, there's really nothing new to the design. If it ain't broke, why fix it right?

Yes, these Mega Evolutions are extra-special and make the Mega Dimension DLC journey more fun, but we have one question. Where is Mega Flygon? Kidding aside, we hope your favorites made the list, and if not, we can always hope for the next DLC!
