Genshin Impact won’t be coming to Steam anytime soon but one of its biggest rivals will be making the jump ahead of it. Wuthering Waves from Kuro Games will be coming to Steam next month, giving fans a free-to-play open-world filled with gacha mechanics. This game already has a ton of fans and we imagine there will be more of them when it's on Steam.
Kuro Games’ open-world RPG will be coming to Steam on April 29, so fans have a full month before they can explore these waves of Wuthering. There are already plenty of gacha games on Steam, but this one is single-player focused and that might win some fans over. It will be interesting to see how fans react to this game once it hits Valve’s popular platform.
Handheld gamers are probably wondering if Wuthering Waves is going to be compatible with the Steam Deck, but we’ll have to wait and see. Based on various gacha games on Steam, this could have the Unsupported label but still be playable. If the game’s focus on open-world exploration and single-player translates well, it could end up getting the Verified rating.
Comparing Wuthering Waves to Genshin Impact is pretty common, as both games offer open worlds to explore and plenty of waifus to collect. That might sound sexist, but these gacha games rely on these voluptuous characters to lure players in. We can’t blame them for it, because this formula has worked and given these publishers millions of dollars.
Despite these comparisons, there are fans who enjoy the Kuro Games RPG for what it is and that’s just fine. The game’s visuals look pretty and combat seems fun, so Steam fans should consider surfing these waves when it comes out next month. If they don’t like it, they can just stop playing and not spend a dime on these gorgeous anime women.
