- Quick Answer: Invite-a-Friend codes from WoW Forever upgrade packs let up to three friends play without a subscription from November 4 to November 11.
Do you want to play World of Warcraft: Forever with your friends, but they don't have a WoW subscription? There's a way you can play with them for free!
World of Warcraft: Forever's beta phase will officially end on October 21, which means players will have to wait two weeks until the game's official launch on November 4. Everyone's progression will be reset, allowing players to start on equal footing.
To play, you need an active World of Warcraft subscription, though you can buy upgrade products to get special goodies. But what if your friend doesn't have a subscription? Here's how they can play for free - with a catch.
How Invite-a-Friend Codes Work in World of Warcraft: Forever
When you purchase World of Warcraft: Forever upgrade packs, you will be given an Invite-a-Friend code that you can use to invite up to three friends to play the game without an active subscription.
The catch? They can only play for free during launch week, which is from November 4 to November 11. After that, they'll need to purchase a subscription to keep playing the game. Additionally, your friends won't have access to the Skyborne Race and their starting zones. The codes are also only available for WoW Forever.
The number of codes you get depends on which pack you buy. If you purchased the Skyborne Heroic Pack, you'll get one invite code. If you purchased either the Epic Pack or the World of Warcraft: Forever Collection, you'll get three codes.
If you upgrade from the Heroic Pack to the Epic Pack or the Forever Collection, you'll be given two additional codes. However, upgrading from Epic to the Forever Collection will not grant additional codes.

The invite codes will be sent to your email addresses on October 20, 2026. Each Invite-a-Friend will be sent individually - this means that if you bought the Epic Pack, you'll receive three separate emails.
While there are some restrictions, this is a great way to introduce your friends to World of Warcraft: Forever. And hey - they might like it enough that they'll purchase the game after launch week!
