Cristiano Ronaldo will be in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves as a playable character. That's right, SNK finally confirmed CR7 as a shocking new fighter for the upcoming Fatal Fury entry.

Months ago, when it was revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo would be a part of City of the Wolves, even the most enthusiastic fans believed that adding the former Real Madrid star as a fighter would be too wild. At most, fans expected outfits inspired by the Portuguese, or a stage that had him as a guest star in the background.

SNK did the impossible. In a YouTube video shared on March 26, Cristiano Ronaldo was officially unveiled as a playable character in City of the Wolves.

This version of CR7 is voiced by Juan Felipe Sierra and features, as you'd expect, plenty of football-related moves. He also hits the signature SIU pose towards the end of the trailer.

SNK recently revealed its full season 1 roster that includes Street Fighter's Ken and Chun-Li. Unless Cristiano is set for a season 2 launch, which seems highly unlikely, the Portuguese star will be part of the main roster.

If this is getting you excited to play Fatal Fury, a second open beta is coming later today, allowing you to try out offline training and versus, as well as online modes like ranked, casual, and custom lobbies.

Yes, it's not a mod

The first open beta was filled with plenty of highs and lows, but if SNK can iron out some issues, combined with the excitement from casual fans who want to try out Cristiano in City of the Wolves, the developers could have a massive hit on their hands.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is set to release on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC (via Steam) this upcoming April 24. If you pre-order the game you'll get three days of early access, able to boot it up starting on April 21.
