Fallout has joined the pantheon of well-adapted video game series, and the second season's production is underway.
The finale teased audiences that the show would be coming to New Vegas, and some set videos have emerged online showcasing the post-apocalyptic Sin City.
Welcome to New Vegas
Some set videos were uploaded to the TikTok account @onzo1313, some sets from the series were showcased, and some spectacularly lit up. Here’s just one of the several videos that have been uploaded:
This clip features the Lucky 38, which is supposed to be a tower serving as the base of operations for Mr. House, the ruler of New Vegas. A sign welcomes visitors to The Strip, which is controlled by the Three Familiars, who also answer to House.
The Lucky 38 Tower is supposed to be a pre-war structure built before the bombs dropped. It’s said that the public has not been allowed inside for 200 years.
It isn’t clear yet what kind of connection Lucy’s father Hank has with New Vegas, but everyone is already convinced that he’s connected to Mr. House somehow, and Hank will try to find a way to get back to his Vault and stop any dissenters from muddying up their plan.
The Legacy of Fallout: New Vegas
Though there are the mainline Fallout games from Bethesda, New Vegas from Obsidian Entertainment is considered one of (if not the) best entries in the franchise.
The whole game has been lauded for its extensive world-building, and the influence of player choices on the narrative is considered to have set a bar for these kinds of story-driven games.
In addition to the Brotherhood of Steel, New Vegas introduced several different factions, and fans have pointed out that the game went to incredible lengths to portray the effectiveness (and non-effectiveness) of the different kinds of governments on which each faction is based.
What Can Fans Expect from Season 2?
As far as Season 2 goes, the most significant direct tease was New Vegas, and fans are expecting to stay there for a good chunk of the story. Even if that is the case, there could be a chance for more exploring of the Wasteland, as Lucy and the Ghoul are still searching for Hank, and they should make some stops to find him.
In Vault 33, Norm only figures out how deep the rabbit hole goes for the surrounding Vaults. He may want to expose his father’s plans before the inhabitants' situation worsens.
With the world being as vast as it is, fans expect new factions—and different vaults— to be explored in the story. So far, the only new cast members confirmed are Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley) and Macaulay Culkin (Home Alone), and it’s possible that they’re only going to be appearing for one episode—not unlike Chris Parnell and Fred Armisen in the first season.
No release date has been set for Fallout Season 2, but fans hope it will be released sooner rather than later—probably sometime next year on Amazon Prime Video.
