It is time to take a look at the VALORANT Agent Tier List. VALORANT doesn’t simply rely on pure aim skills like many of the other popular PvP first-person shooter games. Instead, it’s also a game reliant on strategy, teamwork, and selecting the right agent for the job. Each character provides a different set of abilities that will dictate how rounds play out.

For that reason, keeping track of the agent meta in April 2025 should be at the front of your mind, as changes with buffing, nerfing, and evolving playstyles have since impacted the rankings. So, without delay, let us start.

Duelists

Duelists take fights and create space. They have abilities, such as mobility, flashes, or self-healing to secure kills. They work best when entering sites first and trying to off-guard enemies fast.

  • S Tier: Yoru, Jett, Raze
  • A Tier: Iso, Neon, Reyna
  • B Tier: Phoenix, Waylay

Yoru and Jett are two of the best duelists because they allow you to approach fights on your own. These agents are ideal for players who love fast-paced, unexpected gameplay. With Jett, you can dash in, take a risky shot, and escape before your enemies react.

Yoru, on the other hand, lets you confuse enemies and strike when they least expect it. You can use his teleport to reposition instantly or fake footsteps to create doubt.

Initiators

Their utility helps teams execute site takes or retakes effectively. Plus, they are information gatherers for their teams. They use flashes, recon, and crowd-control abilities to clear areas.

  • S Tier: KAY/O, Sova
  • A Tier: Skye, Fade, Breach
  • B Tier: Gekko

With VALORANT Patch 10.06 being ineffective, KAY/O is without a doubt the best Initiator in the game. You can flash aggressively (now with increased duration), suppress enemies with ZERO/point, and revive yourself.

Similarly, with Sova, you can act as the best intel gatherer for your team with your recon guard and owl drone.

Controller

They are mainly for blocking vision and controlling space. They use smoke, walls, and area-denial abilities to slow enemy pushes and make them vulnerable.

  • S Tier: Clove, Omen
  • A Tier: Astra, Viper
  • B Tier: Brimstone, Harbor

For a very long time, Omen has consistently been rated as the best Controller in the game. He can block vision, teleport to unexpected spots, and set up sneaky plays.

Sentinels

Sentinels defend sites and secure flanks. They use traps, turrets, and healing to delay enemies. Their abilities provide strong defense and support for their team.

  • S Tier: Killjoy, Cypher
  • A Tier: Deadlock, Vyse
  • B Tier: Sage, Chamber

Not to mention, tier lists do provide a general sense of the current meta, but they don’t tell the full picture. Every agent has unique strengths that can be highly effective when it is in the correct hands.

Therefore, your individual skill, game sense, and playstyle are just as important as, if not more than, an agent’s ranking.

So, let's say you're already performing well with your main; there’s no need to switch just because they aren’t top-tier. Stick with what works for you unless you feel like your combinations are not working out.
