Duelists are the primary damage dealers in Marvel Rivals, where they utilize their skill sets ranging from crowd control, mobility, and durability to disrupt enemy positioning and deplete their health bars. Having effective Duelists in your team can make or break a game.

That being said, while the game has a huge roster of heroes, some characters are naturally better than others. So, let's find out who are the Best Duelists in Marvel Rivals.

1. Hela

Hela, otherwise known as the Goddess of Death in Asgard, is our first pick as a Duelist. Through her damage output and crown-control abilities, she can be a potent character in your team.

Her first ability, Nightsword Thorn, is essentially a hitscan attack capable of dealing significant damage to her enemies. Through Soul Drainer, she’s able to perform two purposes, high damage output and stun, disrupting enemy movement for a brief period.

For consistent damage, she reverts to Piercing Night, which is essentially a stock of projectiles that penetrates her enemies. On the crowd-control aspect, she can use Astral Flock, where she releases ghostly crows on her enemies for stunning purposes.

Her Ultimate, The Goddess Of Death, lasts for 10 seconds. Hela ascends into the sky and rains down a barrage of explosives on her enemies, dealing critical damage to them. It also helps to break up her opponent’s strategic positions, creating gaps for her teammates to counter with their respective skill sets.

2. Storm

Like Hela, Storm’s also a Goddess—precisely of Weather. As her name suggests, her abilities are elemental and deal significant damage to her enemies.

The first ability to look at here is Wind Blade, where Storm uses wind currents to penetrate through her opponents and deal deadly hits. For the same purposes, she can also use Bolt Rush, where she essentially goes into a thunder-like animation to charge forward, damaging and stunning the enemies in her way.

Since Storm is the Goddess of Weather, she can manipulate the atmosphere. Through Weather Control, she can change atmospheric patterns to either damage her opponents or provide essential support for her teammates.

Storm Ultimate is called the Omega Hurricane. As the name suggests, Storm essentially produces a hurricane that engulfs nearby enemies to critically deplete their health pool, leaving them vulnerable to her teammates.

3. Iron Fist

Iron Fist is a feared character, primarily due to his deadly close-combat combos and impeccable movement speed coupled with durability.

To deal damage, he uses Dragon Smash. Simply put, he delivers a high-damage punch to his enemies that can significantly deplete their health bars. Additionally, he can use Flying Kick as a movement enhancer that allows him to swiftly propel forward. Since Iron Fist is fundamentally a close-combat character, this ability allows him to close gaps and engage his enemies in close-range confrontation.

Talking about his durability abilities, there are two. The first one is known as Dragon’s Defence, an ability where Iron Fist can not only increase his defensive attributes but also gain a brief health boost. The second one is known as Chi Burst, a multi-purpose ability that can heal the character while dealing damage to his enemies.

Iron’s Ultimate increases his attributes. Through Living Chi, he can gain a temporary buff in damage output, attack range, and movement speed.

4. The Punisher

The Punisher, otherwise known as Frank Castle, has an arsenal of weapons at his disposal, allowing him to be efficient in both close and mid-range encounters.

To deal damage on medium-to-long ranges, he utilizes Adjudication, an Assault Rifle. For close combat, he uses Deliverance, which is a Shotgun. Frank can also enable his Culling Turret, a damage-dealing device that provides supporting fire for The Punisher.

Since you’re primarily a gunner with Frank, it’s vital to have strategic positions on the map, allowing the character to annoy enemies without expecting counter offenses. For this purpose, he utilizes Vantage Connection. In cases where you have to retreat, you can use the same ability to change and reposition.

Through Final Judgment (Ultimate), The Punisher gains access to twin Gatling Guns and missile barrages that are capable of depleting his enemies’ health pools through wide AoE attacks.

5. Magik

Last but not least, we have Magik. Also known as Illyana Rasputina, the character excels in close-range encounters where she can also use her teleportation abilities to gain the upper hand on her opponents.

For offense, she utilizes multiple abilities. The first one is Soulsword Slash, where the character deploys a series of melee attacks that deal damage to her opponents but also regenerate her health over time.

Apart from the offense, Magik’s also sustainable. Through Limbo’s Might (Passive), she’s able to convert a portion of her damage output into bonus health, allowing her to confidently engage in more battles with a higher win percentage.

For teleportation, Magik can use Stepping Discs. Though not being able to cover long distances, it’s still potent to annoy enemies during battle, forcing them to reposition. In cases where she has to disrupt enemy positioning or retreat, she can utilize Umbral Incursion, an ability that projects her enemies into the air.
