PlayStation revealed that an upgraded PSSR upscaler for the PS5 will be roll out globally to PS5 Pro players in the upcoming weeks. Using AI, this technology analyzes game images pixel by pixel to upscale them, offering a neater resolution of PS5 Pro games. At the time of writing, PlayStation confirmed that this has already been used in 50 titles.

PlayStation also revealed that a new PSSR version is also in the works, with its first version being deployed for Resident Evil Requiem—which was released earlier today, February 27, 2026.

According to PlayStation, more news regarding the PSSR upscaler will be revealed in March 2026. Therefore, this feature should go live in the upcoming weeks. To activate it, PS5 Pro players will have to go to Screen and Video, then press on Video Output, and in Screen you should find a tab called Enhance PSSR Image Quality. Once they are there, players will simply have to turn it on.

The only negative side of this feature is that it will only be available to PS5 Pro players. It gives potential PS5 buyers another reason to invest on the PS5 Pro, which will have access to better graphics in the near future. If you're not a PS5 user and you're thinking of purchasing Sony's console, you may want to keep this in mind!
