Ubisoft officially shut down its studio in Winnipeg, Canada, leading to massive layoffs.

According to a report from Insider Gaming, employees from Ubisoft found out about the studio's shutdown during a meeting with management on Wednesday morning.
While the details of why the studio was dismantled are unknown, reports claim that around 85 employees were laid off. This has allegedly impacted some in-development projects at Ubisoft and other studios within the company, such as Ubisoft Montreal.

Insider Gaming also reported that around 120 people working on Rainbow Six Siege were let go. Around 50 people working on Rainbow Six Siege Mobile were let go, as well as an unnamed project.
Not long after the news broke out, several former employees took to LinkedIn to announce they've been let go following the closure of Ubisoft Winnipeg.

Ubisoft Winnipeg first opened in 2018. The studio has worked on popular titles like Far Cry 6, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and Rainbow Six Siege.
