  • Quick Answer: During the Ghost Recon 25th Anniversary presentation, Ubisoft confirmed they are working on a new game and launched an insider program.

Ubisoft celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Ghost Recon franchise with a special presentation, where they unveiled new content for Ghost Recon: Wildlands, a free trial weekend for both Wildlands and Breakpoint, and the possibility to redeem an old Ghost Recon title for free.

However, players were mostly looking forward to announcements regarding the next entry in the franchise. Even though they didn't show anything concrete, Ubisoft did confirm once again that they are working on a new game.

"For the past few years, we’ve been building the next chapter of Ghost Recon," producer Irina-Gabriela Popa said during the presentation.

Alongside this confirmation, the studio launched the Ghost Recon Insider Program, where players can sign up to participate in private test sessions of the new game and provide feedback to the developers.

If you want to be part of this program, you can head over to the registration website, select your platform, log in using your Ubisoft Connect account, and fill out a survey.

We still don't know when the private test sessions will start, but anyone who participates will most likely sign NDAs to prevent information on the new game from leaking.

Given that we still don't have a name or first look at the game, there is still a long way to go before we can think about playing it. In the meantime, Ubisoft has launched a brand-new update for Ghost Recon Wildlands called The Last Rites.

Apart from getting a next-gen upgrade, with 4K resolution and 60 FPS, the free update includes a brand-new mission where players will face off against La Llorona, the leader of a mysterious cult whose name is based on the popular Latin American folklore legend.

The Last Rites is now live for all Ghost Recon Wildlands owners.
