Another year, another Tokyo Game Show celebrating the best of the gaming industry and its people. Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s event.
Tokyo Game Show 2025 – What to Expect
The Tokyo Game Show 2025 promises to be Japan’s biggest celebration of gaming and pop culture. Held annually, the event serves as a premier platform for the latest advancements in gaming and entertainment. Expected to draw around 250,000 attendees, it will bring together industry leaders, independent developers, and gaming enthusiasts from around the world.
Last year, Capcom gave players the chance to try out Monster Hunter Wilds, which launches worldwide this Friday. The showcase event provided fans with a glimpse of what the series has to offer — check out our review here. Other industry giants were also present, unveiling updates to their flagship IPs, including ATLUS with Metaphor: ReFantazio and Konami, in collaboration with Bloober Team, which showcased exclusive footage for Silent Hill 2 Remake.
This year, while still purely speculative, we might see something from Nintendo — potentially the long-awaited release date announcement for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Tokyo Game Show 2025 Games
As of now, no games have been officially confirmed for unveiling at the event. However, much of this year’s anticipation revolves around whether Nintendo will make a major stage appearance. With the Nintendo Switch 2 on the horizon, there’s a strong possibility that Nintendo will showcase the new system at TGS.
There’s no confirmation yet on whether Sony or Microsoft will return, but given their past participation, there’s a chance they could make an appearance.
- Last year, Sony revealed several new titles, including a playable demo for ASTRO BOT, which went on to win Game of the Year at The Game Awards.
- Microsoft showcased Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which has since been released.
