Now that the roadmap and all the information are out, Season 1 is currently what Black Ops 7 players are waiting for. However, it appears Treyarch is already preparing other additions for future post-launch seasons.
According to a post from leaker TheGhostOfHope on X (formerly Twitter), three multiplayer maps from Black Ops 2, Yemen, Plaza, and Slums, are coming to the current title as remastered versions. They will be joining Raid, Express, Highjacked, and Standoff in the pool of Black Ops 2 maps available.
Slums is a map that has appeared on multiple titles since its original launch, with remastered versions in Black Ops 3, Black Ops 4, and Black Ops Cold War. On the other hand, this will be the first time we see Plaza and Yemen in another title other than the original Black Ops 2.
Season 1 is bringing two Black Ops 2 remasters with Meltdown and Standoff, so it wouldn't be uncalled for if the next post-launch season includes three. This is still a rumor, as plans internally can change and the map pool for Season 2 could be altered, so we will have to wait until we are closer to its release to know for certain.
We will also have to wait to see if the map will retain its original design style or if Treyarch has done some reskins, similar to how the Black Ops 7 versions of Raid and Express now take place in Japan.
Season 1 of Black Ops 7 is scheduled to release on Thursday, December 4th, for all platforms. Given that all seasons last eight weeks, and this one could even last longer because of the holidays, we can expect Season 2 to come out at the end of January/beginning of February.
