  • Mouse controls
  • Four-player split screen
  • GameShare allows Switch 1 users to join four-player co-op

The update was originally scheduled to hit the Switch 2 at some point during the fall; however, it was slightly delayed and suddenly dropped for players on Christmas Eve.

Is The Stardew Valley Nintendo Switch 2 Update Free?

Yes, the Stardew Valley Switch 2 version is free for all owners of the original Switch edition. You simply have to download the upgrade pack from the Nintendo eShop.

If you do not own the game yet, you can buy the Switch 2 version for $14.99. Even if you plan on buying a Switch 2 down the line but are still interested in trying out the highly addictive farming simulator, you can purchase the Switch 1 version and download the free upgrade at a later time.

Are There Any Performance Enhancements In The Stardew Valley Nintendo Switch 2 Update?

Sadly, there are none.

In all honesty, the game ran perfectly fine on the Nintendo Switch, and due to its nature of being a pixel-based game, upgrades such as better resolution or framerate hardly matter.
