Naughty Dog may not be working on another Last of Us game next, but they did announce that they’re working on a brand new IP with Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
While fans wait to learn more about Neil Druckmann’s sci-fi game, the devs over at ND have decided to release a crossover cosmetic for The Last of Us Part II Remastered.
Ellie will Get Intergalactic
As per the official reveal from Naughty Dog, Jordan’s jacket from Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet will come as a skin for Ellie in The Last of Us Part II Remastered. Check out the official post:
Per the official ND blog, the jacket will be made available via in-game bonus points for PS5 and PC players—as long as they have accounts for the PlayStation Network. This will give them access to 50 in-game points to activate bonus features and this Intergalactic skin.
Not much has been revealed about bounty hunter Jordan A. Mun yet, but the puffy red jacket has those Akira vibes; either that or Michael Jackson’s Thriller jacket.
PC Players are Coming to Party
Though The Last of Us was a PlayStation exclusive for a while, the Streaming Wars have decided that it’s ultimately better for business to provide games for all platforms.
Admittedly, Sony had been kicking the competition’s ass with their great exclusive lineup from God of War to Final Fantasy, but with Xbox deciding that it should be changing its exclusive model, it’s interesting that PlayStation is also welcome to change—with some titles at least.
For now, the new exclusive model seems limited. A game would be released exclusively on one platform for a set amount of time, and then a few years/months later, it would be released on all other available platforms. That’s what Xbox did with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and PlayStation has done it with Horizon, Death Stranding, and now The Last of Us Part II.
TLOU Part II on PC
It’s been half a decade, but The Last of Us Part II is finally coming to PC. With the game already being a technical marvel back when it came out in 2020, Naughty Dog has ensured that The Last of Us Part II will be optimized for the most advanced PC rig.
Besides all the special features coming out with Remastered, there will also be some added maps for the No Return game mode, plus two new heroes with Bill (playstyle: Smuggler) and Marlene (playstyle: Risk-Taker).
While Druckmann tells fans not to ‘bet on The Last of Us Part III’ happening, fans are hopeful that it’s just a sarcastic joke, and we may get to see Ellie and Abby’s story come to a close down the line eventually.
The Last of Us Part II Remastered launches for PC on April 3.
