Just as promised a day before, Treyarch has released the intro cinematic for the upcoming second Black Ops 7 Zombies map titled Astra Malorum.
After the events of the Ashes of the Damned easter egg, the crew gets transported into an outer space section of the Dark Aether. They bring what's left of Ol' Tessie, which has now been transformed into a rocket ship with a few upgrades.
While fighting a horde of ravagers, the crew crashes the truck into one giant skull-shaped asteroid, like the ones the Warden has, reaching the location of the game's new map. This lines up with the previous hints about this being a space map,
For those who haven't seen it or want to give it another look, here is the intro cinematic:
Astra Malorum has the observatory that was teased with an image before the launch of Black Ops 7, but it also has other buildings, like a town hall or what looks to be a closed dome. As of now, we don't know if the map will have pieces from any previous maps in the series or if everything will be brand-new.
With the crew still surviving inside the Dark Aether, where all the universes except were thrown away at the end of Black Ops 4, there is always a possibility of seeing previous locations.
Astra Malorum is scheduled to release once Season 1 of Black Ops 7 begins. A start date for the season hasn't been announced, but we expect it to start in the first few weeks of December, just like most years.
