It’s been less than a month since the Switch 2 was released, and we’re already getting some more titles on GameCube NSO. This is a good one for sports and multiplayer fans, as Super Mario Strikers is the fourth game coming to the service. While we would have liked more titles added, fans will be happy to know that they already have the best Mario Sports title on Switch 2.

Nintendo confirmed that Super Mario Strikers will be coming to the Switch 2’s GameCube NSO on July 3, so this won’t be a long wait for fans. A trailer for the game was released, showing how good this title still looks to this day. It seems that the sports title even has widescreen support, so fans can appreciate the detailed visuals from an older time period.

Outside of Mario Tennis Aces, most of the sports titles released on Switch have been undercooked, with very little content to go through. These games were built for online multiplayer, but are lacking in content and soul as an after effect.

Mario Strikers: Battle League on Switch is another example, as the game was pretty barebones in terms of content. Although the gameplay was great, there wasn’t enough to keep players coming back aside from online play. Even that has its limits sometimes, so this was an immense disappointment.

In contrast, the original Super Mario Strikers looks like a masterpiece when compared to Battle League. While the game is still multiplayer-centric, there’s enough personality and gameplay to make this a better title than Battle League. Fans of the game’s announcement on X were happy to see the “good” Mario Strikers on a Switch system, which speaks volumes.
