New reports have revealed that performance-wise, the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Street Fighter 6 performs slightly better than its PlayStation 4 and 5 counterparts.
Fighting games are notoriously prone to input latency issues, and Street Fighter 6 is no exception. Since its launch, Capcom’s flagship fighting game has suffered from latency and lag across all platforms—most notably on the PlayStation 5 and 4. While server problems are an obvious culprit, Capcom faced similar issues with Street Fighter 5, frustrating players when input delays disrupted crucial in-game moments.
The good news? Some FGC players who attended a hands-on preview of the Nintendo Switch 2 discovered that Street Fighter 6 runs more smoothly than on the PlayStation 5. Sure, it doesn’t match up graphically, but the performance felt snappier, with noticeably less input lag, even while running on a big TV.
X (formerly Twitter) user @slimebigmoney shared a series of tweets about his experience with the game on the Switch 2. While some fans were quick to dismiss his claims, he acknowledged that his impressions were based purely on feel, with no recorded data to back them up, so take it with a grain of salt.
Still, this is promising news for prospective Nintendo Switch 2 users, especially those who enjoy playing with friends on the go. While it remains to be seen whether this version will be tournament-ready, it's already encouraging to see a console option that might alleviate the latency concerns plaguing other platforms.
