The Friend’s Pass feature from Split Fiction is back and better than ever, now with seamless crossplay support.

This means anyone can join you and play the entire game for free on any available platform.

That’s a huge upgrade from It Takes Two’s more limited reach — now, no one has to miss out on playing with their friends, no matter the console.

In case you didn’t know, the Friend’s Pass has always been a staple of Hazelight Studios’ games. Players who purchase It Takes Two or Split Fiction get an extra Friend’s Pass to share with a friend, allowing them to play along for free. The pass grants limited access, letting two players team up and experience Hazelight’s signature co-op adventures. It can be used multiple times, but only by one friend at a time — anyone else will have to wait their turn.

Split Fiction is the latest game from Josef Fares and Hazelight Studios, following the massive success of It Takes Two. This time, two writers find themselves trapped inside their own creations — one a master of science fiction, the other a fantasy storyteller. Their two worlds collide in a story-driven adventure where both genres play a crucial role in the game’s narrative and mechanics.

Every level in Split Fiction is a wild mix of sci-fi and fantasy, straight from the minds of Mio and Zoe. One moment, players might be battling fire-breathing dragons; the next, they’re donning high-tech exosuits straight out of Metroid. Just like It Takes Two, no two levels play the same, offering a fresh experience throughout the game.

Split Fiction also brings back Hazelight’s signature split-screen co-op, ensuring a seamless experience for both players. It’s a nostalgic nod to the PlayStation 2 era, where couch co-op gaming thrived — but now, with crossplay, you don’t even need to be on the same console to team up.

Hazelight Studios’ Split Fiction arrives this March 6 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
