I camp. Always have, always will. If there's a building, I'm in it. If there's a corner, I'm holding it.
Now, with the Low Profile perk, I'm about to be even more of a nightmare. I have to say, this new perk seems like one of the best additions Raven Software has done in a while. That also means it's going to ruin everyone else's day, which makes it even better.
Low Profile does exactly what it sounds like: it makes staying hidden a lot easier. It boosts crouch and prone movement speed by 20%, stops death markers from appearing for enemies you kill, and even lets you move slightly faster when downed.
For anyone who loves sneaking around inside buildings and catching unsuspecting players off guard, this is a dream come true. For campers like me, this means even more ways to hold down a position.
It's already easy enough to lurk inside a hospital or a well-placed structure in Promenade East, but now I can rotate between spots without making too much noise.
Camping has been a controversial tactic in Warzone since the very beginning. In a game designed around fast-paced action and high-stakes engagements, players who sit back and wait for enemies to come to them are often seen as breaking the flow of the match.
Rushers despise it because they can't rush as they usually do, while casual players get annoyed when they get ambushed right as they enter a building. The return of Verdansk back then only made things worse.
The countless multi-story buildings provided campers with endless opportunities to ambush players. Downtown, Hospital, and Promenade turned into hotspots for players camping in windows or behind doors, forcing everyone else to either skip them or dive in and hope they don't get blasted.
Later maps tried to cut down on camping with more open spaces, but the playstyle never really went away. Now Verdansk is back, and so is the debate.
If you played during the early days, you already know how many players loved locking down buildings, especially those with multiple entry points. The Low Profile perk is only making things worse for those who despise campers.
People can whine about it all day, but that's not stopping me from doing what I do best. I've seen all the complaints:
"This perk is just for rats!"
"Camping is ruining Warzone!"
"Verdansk is going to be hell with this!"
But that's not my problem. People hated campers before this perk existed, and I was still thriving. I don't tell rushers to slow down, so why should they be stopping me from playing the game my way? If I take them out before they get to me, that's on them.
Even some Warzone veterans see Low Profile as a questionable addition. Not a major change, but it’s bound to be bothersome for players who enjoy more aggressive tactics.
Still, let's be honest. As much as it annoys aggressive players, Low Profile isn't exactly OP. It won't turn Warzone into a full-blown horror game where every hallway has a ghostly figure silently creeping up behind you.
Your footsteps aren't entirely silent, and at the end of the day, a good headset and awareness can still counter it. Plus, with other perks like Scavenger still being a solid option, not everyone is going to be running Low Profile in every match.
But that doesn't mean I'm not going to milk every advantage I can get. At the end of the day, Warzone is all about adapting, and Low Profile is just another tool to use.
It's not often that Warzone hands out something that fits my playstyle so perfectly, so you can bet I'll be running this perk every chance I get.
If you hear slow footsteps in a building and suddenly drop without a death marker, that's probably me, and I'm not sorry
