Developer Nacon revealed their latest title: RoboCop Rogue City - Unfinished Business. It's a standalone sequel/expansion to their 2023 critically acclaimed Rogue City RPG take on Detroit and its iconic police officer.
In Unfinished Business, RoboCop must confront a powerful gang of criminals that has taken control of the brand-new OmniTower, OCP's latest endeavor. The OmniTower is a housing complex for residents of Old Detroit.
Details on gameplay or the story are scarce. However, the premise and early look at Rogue City—Unfinished Business evokes Die Hard or Judge Dredd. We'll seemingly have to slowly take back control of OmniTower, moving from floor to floor and encountering perilous threats.
One immediately noticeable difference is that Unfinished Business looks more action-oriented than Rogue City. RoboCop's arsenal features impressive weaponry as he sets out to tear apart all the unlawful citizens (and a few fellow machines) who stand in the way of justice.
It won't be all adrenaline-fueled FPS action, though. The game will feature even more backstory for our titular hero, as glimpses of Alex Murphy can be spotted. Players will seemingly be able to relive one of the most horrific events of the franchise by the looks of the trailer. If you know, you know.
The first Rogue City, released in 2023, received much love from fans and critics alike. Despite being an AA developer, Teyon and publisher Nacon managed to essentially craft a love letter for fans of the franchise, with a faithful rendition of Old Detroit and its dangerous streets paired with very interesting RPG mechanics that fleshed out the game beyond what could have been a generic licensed first-person shooter.
RoboCop Rogue City—Unfinished Business is scheduled for release in the summer of 2025. It will be available on Steam for Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC.
