Resident Evil 3 Remake is undoubtedly the black sheep of the remake series, and perhaps one of the most disappointing Resi games in franchise history. However, with the Resident Evil Requiem hype at an all-time high, devoted players are trying to fix it by adding a ton of the missing content the remake left behind.

The project is being dubbed Resident Evil 3 Last Escape, it's a large-scale mod that adds entirely new areas like the Clock Tower, RPD, the cemetery, and more. On top of that, the mod will include new puzzles, more Nemesis encounters, add an Ink Ribbon save system, and other gameplay changes to make it more like a proper survivor horror game.

It's a massively ambitious undertaking, with the developers sharing their journey via YouTube, where they constantly update those interested in trying it out with footage of all the additions.

Resident Evil 3 Remake was reportedly supposed to ship alongside RE2 Remake in January 2019, but internal development issues pushed the project back a year, launching in early 2020 instead. This is largely the reason many fans cite as to why Jill's journey feels so half-baked, as it was meant to be a supplement to the star of the show, which would be Leon and Claire's horrific adventure through RPD and more.

Since both games are made on the RE engine, most of the additions in the Last Escape mod are pulled directly from RE2R, facilitating things for the developers.
