Is Team Rocket the Hero or the Villain?

This leads us to wonder - did Team Rocket know something we didn't? Did they know that the world was destined to fall due to climate change, and did they take the necessary steps to ensure that everyone would be evacuated safely? Is that why they did everything they could for financial gain, so that when the time comes, things like resources wouldn't be an issue?

Perhaps that's why they were called Team Rocket in the first place, the plan from the start was always to build a large rocket to ship humanity into space when the time comes. It was right there, hiding in plain sight.

It really paints a picture that, despite the morally grey steps they took, Team Rocket only had people's preservation in mind. Maybe Giovanni (Team Rocket's leader) wanted world domination to centralize logistics, so that when the planet's inevitable doom comes, the rocket will be fully built and safe enough to carry passengers aboard.

If my hypothesis is true, then I applaud Team Rocket for thinking about saving the human race. However, it does beg the question: Does the end justify the means? Yes, they saved humanity, but they did many horrible things to do it. But sometimes, you need to make difficult choices for the greater good of the majority.

So, were Team Rocket the villain? No, they were the anti-villain. They did some questionable things, but their goal was always the same: save humanity.
