Arc System Works just dropped massive news at San Diego Comic-Con, including the first of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls’ DLC: Phoenix Cyclops.
The game is set to drop on August 5 with a 20-character roster that already includes a few classic X-Men like Storm, Magik, Magneto, Wolverine, and even more obscure pulls like Danger. Still, many fans' icons like Scott Summers deserved a spot, and well, he made it in after all, even if it’s going to be post-launch.
If you don’t know the story of why Cyclops is possessed by the Phoenix Force, I recommend you check out Avengers vs X-Men. It’s not a perfect story, but it explains how the fusion came to be, as Cyclops, alongside Namor, Magik, Colossus, and Emma Frost, become hosts of a fragmented Phoenix Force.
Via a PlayStation Blog, producer Takeshi Yamanaka explained that Cyclops will be able to zone out with his classic optic blasts but will also have the Phoenix Force to help him dominate in close-range. Sadly, beyond the small teaser shown at SDCC, no gameplay footage was actually shown.
When Is Cyclops Coming To Marvel Tokon?
As mentioned, Phoenix Cyclops will be the first DLC of Year 1. According to Arc System Works, he’ll be available during Fall 2026.
The Year 1 pass will include a total of four characters and a stage, which will bring the total roster to 24 by next year. Remember that Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls releases this upcoming August 5. It will be available on PS5 and PC.
