Aurete is probably one of the rarest weapons in Phantom Blade Zero - and that's why everyone wants it.
The Aureate provides massive passive burst damage, offensive pressure, and complete boss stun-locking capabilities. If you get the weapon to its maximum potential, it fundamentally changes how your secondary weapons operate - it's a total game-changer.

How to Get the Aureate Weapon
To get the Aureate weapon, you'll need to face Zuo Shang, the Order's Shadow Sovereign. However, you will only be able to defeat Zuo Shang if you have completed the requirements needed for the True Ending. If you aren't able to do this, you won't reach this part of the game.
Zuo Shang is a two-phase boss found in Mount Soulrend. During the first phase, he attacks you with a combo of ranged sword attacks. You'll have to block his sword projectiles and be able to parry his flying sword combos. In the second phase, Zuo Shang will unleash several special attacks, which will require you to parry and retaliate.

Since Aureate is dropped from the game's final true boss, it's primarily meant for New Game Plus or post-game exploration rather than for the main story. Once you obtain the weapon, you can use the Broken Long Body and take Aureate to Myst to Soul Temper the weapon.
Once it is Soul Tempered, you'll get The Grand Design, an enhancement skill that drastically powers up your next phantom weapon summon. This totally upgrades your secondary weapons, such as adding explosive elements like flames to the Phantom Great Hammer or homing darts to the Phantom Iron Umbrella.
