  • Quick Answer: Phantom Blade Zero has been delayed to October 29 to allow developers more time for polishing.

Phantom Blade Zero has been delayed from its original September 9 release date all the way to October 29. The developers confirmed they will use this extra time to polish the game and take it "one step further."

It coincidentally works in their favor as well, as September was looking like a bloodbath of major releases, all trying to get their time to shine without directly competing with the behemoth that is Grand Theft Auto 6. Some of the games include Marvel's Wolverine (September 15), Silent Hill: Townfall, and Control Resonant (both on September 24).

Via social media, Liang Qiwe, CEO of S-Frame, stated the following: "These refinements will directly affect how the game feels when players first step into the world of Phantom Blade Zero. We could have delivered some of them through post-launch updates, but for the players who choose to join us on day one, we believe they deserve the best version of Phantom Blade Zero we can deliver from the very beginning."

The game will get a dedicated State of Play later this year, leading up to launch.
