Here we go again. The PC (Steam) version of Lost Soul Aside is nowhere to be found in countries without PlayStation Network (PSN) support. This bodes ill for players eagerly anticipating Yang Bing’s upcoming character action game.

Over 100 countries lack PSN support, and Sony does not plan to expand it despite increasing demand. Unfortunately, the game cannot be pre-ordered or purchased in the Philippines, Afghanistan, Vietnam, or Iran.

This is an awkward and puzzling situation, especially since Sony recently reversed its requirement that players have a PSN account to play its latest games. Yet here we are again, stuck in the same cycle, with many players unable to access PlayStation’s highly anticipated PC releases.

The absence of Lost Soul Aside on Steam in countries without PSN isn’t unprecedented. A similar controversy arose when Helldivers 2 was seemingly removed from Steam’s storefront following Sony’s integration of PSN for online games. This left many players frustrated, unable to invite friends to battle Tyranids and other alien foes.

Another case involved The Last of Us Part II, a single-player game that initially required a PSN account. Fortunately, Sony eventually reversed that decision, allowing players in non-PSN-supported countries to access the full experience.

Which begs the question — why is Lost Soul Aside, a single-player hack-and-slash game, still unavailable? Pre-orders are live, yet players outside PSN-supported regions are met with Steam’s dreaded message: “Oops, this item is currently unavailable in your region.”

Frustrated fans have taken to the r/LostSoulAside subreddit to voice their concerns, with some hoping the PSN requirement might be removed. Since Lost Soul Aside’s developer, Ultizero Games isn’t owned by Sony — only published by them — there may be room for change.

Lost Soul Aside cannot be purchased in the affected countries. Fans remain hopeful that this is a listing error that will soon be fixed.
