The Nintendo Switch 2 was finally revealed after months/years of rumors, leaks, and speculation. With a launch date set for June 5, 2025, fans worldwide are desperate to place a pre-order for the successor to Nintendo's beloved hybrid handheld console.
As we wave our original Switch off to the great beyond, there are several titles we will want to take with us on the journey to next-gen. Unfortunately, not all titles are compatible with the new console, and others simply won't work at all.
To help you navigate the minefield of Nintendo Switch 2's backward compatibility, we have gathered all currently available information on original Switch games that have issues on Switch 2.
The following table details all original Switch games that will not work with Switch 2. We will add to this list should more titles be announced as being incompatible with the Switch 2.

We fully expect most, if not all, Switch titles with start-up issues to be playable on Switch 2. Due to their popularity, games such as DOOM: Eternal may have their problems resolved quicker than other titles on the list.
In addition, some Switch titles start up on Nintendo Switch 2 but include some in-game compatibility issues. The table below lists the titles this applies to and how Nintendo plans to handle the problems.
