One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 is a lot like Monkey D. Luffy, in that it simply refuses to die. The game did well on last-gen systems but Bandai Namco have announced that Pirate Warriors 4 is now being ported to PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. As if that wasn’t enough, new DLC for the game is coming and fans get to decide who is included.

Bandai Namco confirmed that PS5 and Xbox Series versions of this anime Warriors game will be coming, though no release date was confirmed. It was also confirmed that the anime tie-in was able to top four million in sales, seemingly surpassing expectations. Needless to say, this is a very successful game and it makes sense for the company to make current-gen ports.

As if a better-looking version of One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 wasn’t enough, fans will also get to vote for who the new DLC characters will be. Fans interested in this will need to make a Bandai Namco account and vote for the heroes or villains they want to see next. It is amazing to see the devs make this game’s already large roster even bigger, but money talks.

Now that the One Piece Netflix series has captured audience interest, letting them try out the anime and manga, capitalizing with this game is pretty smart. It helps that Warriors games are just inherently fun, smashing around thousands of enemies with ease. The fact that you can do this with Luffy and the Straw Hat crew just makes that more satisfying.

There is a reason why One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 keeps getting support, as it’s a quality Warriors title that anyone can enjoy. With great visuals, satisfying combat, and a new way to use special attacks, it’s easy to see why this game struck a chord with many. Hopefully, Bandai Namco are also working on a Switch 2 version, since the port for Switch 1 has pretty long loading times.
